Privacy policy
How we handle data when you visit our website or contact us.
Last updated: 20 October 2026
1. Controller and contact details
The data controller is Gem S.r.l.s., trading as Gem Boat, with its registered office at Via Statale Sant’Antonio, 153 – 98051 Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto (ME), Italy, VAT no. 03748060831, REA ME-257887. For enquiries about your data: info@gemboat.it, telephone +39 349 374 7012.
2. Browsing and the configurator
The hosting infrastructure processes technical data needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP address, date and time, requested resource and browser information. The purpose is to operate and secure the service, based on the controller’s legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
The configurator processes colours and images in your browser. Saving creates a file on your device or opens the system sharing menu; it does not automatically send the configuration to Gem Boat. Switching between Italian and English temporarily preserves your choices in the same tab. See the Cookie policy for these technical storage functions.
3. Enquiries and quotations
If you email, call or contact us on WhatsApp, we process the contact details and information you choose to provide, such as model, configuration, dates and number of guests. We use them to reply, prepare quotations and take pre-contractual steps at your request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Contractual relationships also involve statutory obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
Providing these details is optional; without the necessary contact details and information we may be unable to answer your enquiry. The website has no newsletter sign-up and contacting us does not subscribe you to promotional communications.
4. Recipients and external services
Data may be processed by authorised staff, hosting, security and communications providers and professional advisers, within their respective roles, and by authorities where required by law. The chatgpt.site version is published through Sites using Cloudflare infrastructure. Email enquiries are delivered to the business mailbox info@gemboat.it.
WhatsApp, Google Maps and reviews, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok are external links: they open at your request and are also subject to the relevant providers’ privacy notices. Maps and social content are not embedded in our pages. We do not sell visitors’ data.
International providers may process data outside the European Economic Area under the applicable service terms. You may contact the controller for information about recipients and transfer safeguards, including adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses where applicable.
5. Retention
Enquiries are retained for the time needed to reply and handle related follow-up. If a contractual relationship arises, retention periods for contractual documentation and administrative and tax obligations apply. Further retention may be necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Technical data are handled according to the infrastructure’s operational and security needs; configurator storage periods are described in the Cookie policy.
6. Your rights
Where provided for by GDPR Articles 15–22, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal effects on you.
Write to info@gemboat.it. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority or your competent supervisory authority.
7. Optional Google Analytics 4 statistics
Only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, traffic sources and use of the pages and configurator. Providing this data is optional and refusing does not restrict browsing. You can withdraw consent using “Cookie preferences” in the footer, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Data may include pseudonymous browser and session identifiers, page visits and interactions, traffic sources, device characteristics and approximate location. Google also receives technical data needed for communication. We do not use this integration to personalise advertising. Link clicks do not prove that enquiries or purchases were completed.
Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, involving Google LLC and its subprocessors under Google’s data processing terms. Processing may involve transfers outside the EEA, including to the USA. Google describes applicable safeguards, including the EU-US framework for certified recipients and standard contractual clauses where relevant, in its data transfer frameworks.
The website sets statistical cookies to last no more than 180 days. Detailed user and event data in a standard Analytics property have a configurable retention of 2 or 14 months; contact the controller for the current setting. Standard aggregated reports are not subject to the same automatic expiry. For information or erasure requests, email info@gemboat.it. See also our Cookie policy and Google Privacy Policy.
